There have been a few posts suggesting a possibility that the cause of this is from turning the cap upside down and the oil runs into the top of the cap. Then when you invert, the oil seeps out. Is this possibly the case?

I would think you would have many more major problems than just an oil cap seeping if the crankcase was not venting. More like oil coming out of every seal!
