You would do fine with any DOT 4 rated brake fluid. The + in DOT 4 just gives an incremental amount of boil protection in the fluid..... someting I'd only worry about if I was doing a lot of high-speed stopping on the autobahn or summer driving through Donner's Pass in the Sierra Nevada Range.
Some on this site get by with DOT 3. You wouldn't be abusing your car if you use this grade. All three types (DOT 3, DOT 4, DOT 4+) are compatible with each other and can be mixed without concern.
Instead of topping off after the brake job, you should consider exchanging the fluid completely. It should be done every two years. If you search, there's a lot written on this subject. Bleeding about 250 ml from each corner should do it.
