Pretty dang amazing. I've been hearing about it on NPR.

A boy up in Richmond, just North of me, one of the hardest cities in the region -- more so than Oakland, got mauled by two pit bulls a few years back. He was about 10 or 12, had just gotten a new bike and these two dogs ripped off a lot of his facial muscles. A really heart wrenching story. I guess the kid is way timid about going out in public because of the way people stare. I don't know if something like that would work for him because it was more of his face, I think. Life can be cruel.

I sure hope this lady makes it. They said she'll have to take the anti-rejection drugs for the rest of her life and there's a chance the new face could turn black and die in the months to come. I'm not usually a saying prayers for strangers kind of guy, but I'm going to say some for this lady.

She had adopted the dog from a shelter. Whoa...
