It is common for this age of car to have hard and often brittle front and rear window moldings. I had a similiar problem with a 123 model. I was convinced it was coming from the doors/windows etc.

It turned out to be a leaking from window seal. The water would dribble down, make its way to the rear passenger well via acceleration. I change the front windshield molding and all was well once again.

If the windshiled molding doesn't snap back when pulled up, it needs replacing.
