I know the Air Force, Army and Navy all have them on post/base. Most are very well equipped with tools, usually offer paint booths, and are staffed by knowledgeable people who can give pointers or help hold a wrench. Can't believe it's not workable in the civvy world. O.K. NKowi, I'm a retired "zoomie", and it was my Jarhead brother who convinced me to suit up in blue! Service rivalries aside, I have the utmost respect for you and your profession...Semper Fi my friend.
