As you may note my other car is a W201 190 16V. There is NO WAY the W126 can measure up in tossability so why try? I know more about lowering these cars than many, having turned a W124 E420 into an E500 from a handling perspective. If you want your ride height reduced, ask Phil to get you the European-spec [I]SportLine[I] springs with the single bump spring pads.
Actually, I'm hoping that I'll find that I have the 23mm pads now (haven't even looked yet). If so, I'm furthing hoping that switching to the 8mm pads will give me enough drop (I'm not looking to "slam" the thing, nor do I believe I can get it handle like a smaller car - my motives are purely aesthetic) that I can save a few hundred dollars by not having to buy springs at all. As I mentioned in my original post, I'm basically a cheap-skate and don't want to have to spend any more $$$ than necessary. Thanks for your input and insight!
