to me a muffler is a muffler, outta sight, outta mind, unless it gets loud....I like things pretty quiet (so why did you buy a diesel? ya, ya...nature of the beast, I know that). I figure these 23 year mufflers are pretty much straight pipes by now....I out grew straight pipes 25 years ago! These days, I don't want them to hear me coming.....I like to sneak up on them now.

Is there any Black Magic involved? Any special air flow, or restriction requirments? Or can I just go get some new mufflers installed?

And NO! I won't DIY on the mufflers. I've had red-hot molten steel roll down my back into my britches ONCE....it will never happen again!
