What's the proper way to lift an M103 by the oil pan? I read not to use a jack directly on the alloy pan. I also read to put some wood between the jack and the pan (generic, not specific to M103). However, the bottom of my pan isn't flat, it's concave.
In the absence of advice, I set a section of 2x4 on the jack, then a big thick sweater folded several times. No, my engine isn't that clean, it's a throwaway sweater.
Is there a way to lift the engine with a jack with less risk of damaging the oil pan?
And that's my hat trick of new threads for today
