I have considered adding a hood scoop to primairily to make room for an intercooler. I pretty much ruled it out because I don't want to carve up my cars good looks. Hood scoops usually don't get much air flow unless they are right up front or stick up high out of the hood. This is because the front of the car creates a bow wave of air that flows over the top of the scoop.

Now if I find another 300SD in 'impossible to keep clean dark green' color in a junk yard I may buy the hood to experiment with. That way I will not permanently defile the looks or aerodynamics of my Benz.
