Venezuela is a mess, socially. Since Bolivar, the country went from principled leadership to a corrupt oligarchy masquerading as a democracy. the wealthy aristocrats have been screwing the people by manipulating every branch of government in their own favor. The poor people of Venezuela chose that thug because he was not a pawn of the oligarchy and they have stuck with him for that reason.

Chavez is a dangerous man. He has the potential for leadreship i=of the Nazi sort. We'll find out at the next election.
