Thanks for that point about putting the jackstands close to the car, otherwise you risk twisting the jack point right off of the car. I really like this method as it is very stable, especially with the rod centered in the vally of the jackstand. This is also nice, because you can jack the car up with a piece of wood between the jack and the car, and still have a place to put the jackstand.
