208K Mile tune up!

Hi Folks,

My local MB Stealership could not answer this amazingly basic question:

I bought a used 1991 MB with 204K miles in amazing condition. Regardless, I have no way of knowing the maintenance history, and being a DIY, I want to do a “full service”

Besides an oil and filter change, diesel filter change, air cleaner, radiator flush, can anyone tell me some good preventive maintenance to do to keep this thing running another 200K?

I bought a new Transmission filter kit, and want to replace the trans fluid, but I have no idea what kind of fluid to use? MB says to use MB fluid, but is this really needed on a ’91?

Should I change the power steering fluid?

Rear differential fluid? (what kind does it take Hypoid?)

Brake fluid seems perfect and was probably service recently, but I am not sure.

What basic things should I check for while I have the car on the lift? Just check all my bushings?

Am I forgetting anything inexpensive that should be checked or replaced?

Any advice to help keep this great car running as great as it is would be helpful!

Thanks,

Stevels
