Goodyear, Dayco, Gates, Conti, whatever they all make good belts. You probably just got a bum one.
I'm not a huge fan of Gates stuff anymore....since I put a Gates Timing belt on my Honda about 6 years ago....everytime I hit 5K on that engine the cams would jump time....10 times resetting the timing and I went to get an OEM belt which never once jumped time again. Maybe the rest was better but I don't like timing belts on interferance engines to stretch and jump time. more than 3 teeth and pistons would have been kissing the valves on that car.
