before the internet, we had to learn it on our own, from our dads, from the neighbor, or from books. it took a lot longer, but there was a lot less to know back then. cars are a lot more complex now.

my first car, a 1960 simca aronde had a pushrod four with a one barrel carburator, a four on the tree shifter, excellent nimble handling, and most important to a horney teenager with grand ideas, reclining front seats!

good thing it was easy to work on cause it was a pos quality wise. i rebuilt the tranny twice, the motor once and swapped the motor once. kindof a constant demonstration device for beginning auto repair!
