The car has only 82,000 miles on it, with one older female owner. Most records are available. The problem according to the daughter is the transmission sticks in second. It will not go higher. They are asking $8,000, CDN, which seems like a 4,000 to 6,000 discount over similar no issue vehicles.

Any comments on the likelihood of fixing the tranny short of a full rebuild? Any other comments on its value?

Thanks,

John
I wouldn't presume to comment about the W140's value except to remind you the AC/evaporator issues on the early ones ran into thousands of dollars, I would be very careful of getting into an early W140 at any price, (though the ride is fit for a king, and they are VERY safe.)

What I must say, is the photo of your 1982 240D in that color with that interior color,Eurolights is exquisite, just absolutely gorgeous, stunning, it looks like a trophy winning car. It takes my breath away. You must be a discerning owner, or custodian, of your cars.

Take care, good luck
