Meguiar's Gold Class was formulated to not be particularly long-lasting, but rather for making paint look good.

However, it was specifically formulated to not bead. Whether it beads or not is not an indicator of protection. The way they see it, if water beads, and if left to dry, it will leave mineral deposits on the paint.

Their Polymer Sealant and NXT Tech wax are their longest lasting products. They are both polymer sealants, which provide better durability characteristics than carnuba products.

To check and see if you still have protection, rub a towel back and forth across the paint. If it squeaks, it is time to wax.
