Don't forget what the little head with the cyclops eye controls.
I'm split between Mike and the other side. St. Ausustine is supposed to have said: Prostitutes are to a city what a sewer is to a palace; without a sewer the palace would become infected and foul.
OTOH, I've heard of neighborhoods that had brothels that operated outside the law by bribing police. Residents complain of their daughters being solicited by Johns in the vicinity. A guy looking to buy sex begins to think that any good looking female on the street might be game.
Having driven cab in Oakland, I know too well where the hookers hang out. Some nights, before Jerry Brown was elected Mayor, they'd be swarming. Daytimes too, little less volume. Walking up to car windows to talk bidness while school kids walk by. Jerry clamped down pretty hard. Now it's the older, more desperate ones you see.
I used to wonder why the song, House of the Rising Sun, had the lyric about it being "the ruin of many a poor boy." At first I thought it was because it was originally written from a woman's POV, and women do sing it: "and it's been the ruin of many a poor girl..." and they just changed it so it would make sense with a man singing it.
Now I think it can ruin a man too. You waste your time, money, and your sexual energy on stuff that will go nowhere, guaranteed.
