Many thanks for the insights... I assume everyone who has one of these 98/99 TD's is happy and not interested in a CDI. I do wonder if I should just take the plunge and buy a '05 CDI .... it sure is zippy to my thinking when I test drove one at a dealers. I imagine the 300TD's are quite a bit slower
