On smooth roads, no problem - smooth as silk.
New shocks will not fix this issue. The suspension on the W126 is especially sensitive to pavement cracks, small bumps.......concrete pavement, etc.

The only reason to change shocks is when the vehicle can't corner and keep the tires on the ground..........you'll feel the rear end hopping around on bumps........I've not witnessed this on the front end. Changing shocks on the front of the SD was largely a waste of time and money.

If you figure out a set of progressive rate springs for this vehicle..........please let me know..........I try to avoid concrete pavement whenever possible because the ride is so harsh.
