If you think your system lacks 'punch', I think the best upgrade you could probably start with is an amplifier. Whatever your headunit has written on it (4x25w or whatever), its unlikely it'll put out any more that about 4 watts per channel. Once you have an amp, then you can start upgrading speakers, as your headunit may have problems trying to control larger or more heavy duty speakers (imagine a 1.9L in an S-Class!!)

A decent set of component speakers in the stock locations would be a good upgrade in terms of quality and punch. I think MBQuart make some that'll fit.

Where would you put the bazooka tube? If you want to put a sub in the trunk of a 560, dont forget that the trunk is extremely well sealed, and you'll need to cut some of the rear deck away.

My 300CE didnt have speakers in the doors either, so I went for a different solution, and made some 2 inch thick boxes for the front floor panels, and put 8inch Infinity Kappas in them. Theres always a solution!!
