Thanks for the info, Like fmajid and Mike suggested, I have bought a replacement head unit and Changer. A Blaupunkt Aspen Cassette ( I still have a ton of these) and 10 Disc Blaupunkt CDC-A080 changer for the trunk.

The Unit puts out 140 watts peak with the capability for connection to stand alone amps later.

Right now I'm just interested in the unit and speaker replacements. Thanks for the sizing and old amplifier location information. Just what I was looking for.

As far as taking on this myself, I've done 3 other MB's and 2 Porsches I've owned since I was a teenager, now that I'm in the forties it's still the same, the only problems I have now is back bending underneath the dash. As far as expirence, An MB is nothing like a Gruman F-14 or MD F/A18 as far as complications in wiring goes. Years of expirence in the military avionics world translates into consumer electronics no problems.
