Seriously, though-- In town, an automatic 240D is a wonderous thing! It is smooth, quiet and I'd even call it lithe. They're slow on hills and 80mph is very taxing, true. You can't ask for a nicer experience in a car than being in 2nd and 3rd gears in a 240D.
