POR15 sloppiness ... need cleanup help
Yesterday I spent a few careful hours cleaning up the rust situation growing on my right taillamp ... took out the assembly, did the whole POR15 routine. Well, when I left it to dry, I didn't want an animals climbing into the taillamp hole (my cats would have loved it), so I gently rested a towel over it ... idiot that I am, I managed to bump the towel, dragging it up the car and smearing the undried POR15 onto the nice clean area above the light. It's tiny little streaks, but very noticeable to me. What's the best way to get these off? Compound? I could finesse it w/ wet sanding, but i'm worried that area of the paint will look funny. The area below it, obviously is not going to look great (I'm going to paint over it in white, but it will still be lumpy), but I'd hate to have that top part remain all scuffed up with silver streaks. There's a small bit on the trunk, too. I hate that, because I was so careful throughout the process. Any ideas? Here's a bad pic ... again, the part just above the light assembly is supposed to look gross, it was all rust and I had to cover it ... but the little scuffs above it, I want to get off.
