Fuel Accumulator Failure?
In doing some checking of my car's fuel system, I removed the VENT hose from the fuel accumulator on my '86 190E 2.3-16V. I had a suspicion that the accumulator might be bad.
The vent hose should have little else but fumes in it. When I pulled off the hose, fuel poured out (engine off).
Question: where does this vent hose go, and could something at the other end cause fuel to be in the vent line?
The fuel accumulator can't be completely shot, since the car does run. It is just slow to start when cold, and sometimes very hard to start when hot.
Any expert thoughts?? The manual shows no detail on where the vent line goes.
