If it's running fine and the noise went away, could be a good Italian tune up. Blue smoke is engine oil smoke.

My car has 223,000. Does not burn oil, but likes to drip fron the oil separator and has blowby. Run great though. Loses about a 1/2 qt every 2500 miles. I figure she's just marking her territory.
