my late father had two 30 06s. an infield which he handmade a sport stock for and a box stock spring field which he bought for like $7 after ww2. my mom has them now.

i have fired the enfield a few times. best brace your feet well and be sure it it tight against your shoulder. it has a stout kick.

but at a hundred yards or two it will shoot exactly where you point it. and make a hole in an 8" diameter tree as if it is a milk carton.

i have no expereince with any of the other guns mentioned.

dad knew a lot about guns. particularly rifles. shot in competition and was good enough to be invited to try out for the olympic team in about 1950 or so. he respected the 30 06 a lot, but never hunted with it that i knew of.
