Good point on the wildlife, especially at sunset and nightime when deers like to come out. For those that don't have any, please go get deer whistles, they actually do work (but you have to travel above 30 mph for the wind to activate them).
As stated before, the ticket is not the issue here. In Texas, I can take defensive driving (which is good anyway and gives you an insurance discount) and get it dismissed. You can do this once every 12 months.
