So, my wife's blower motor went out in her W116.

After verrifying that the blower motor (and not some other part of the HVAC) was indeed broken, I checked fastlane. $904 with the cage, $345 without. Since I there was no harm in doing so, I dissasembled it to find worn out brushes.

Tommorow when I go to the hardware store, it will be fixed for $10.
