There are many possible causes, some serious others not. ASR light is a very common problem and there are many good threads on the subject. Try a search above. Do a search also for building a fault code tester and reading fault codes. Your car has a 38 pin diagnostic connector that will help you determine the source of the problem. You can build a fault code reader for the car for less than $10.
