on my 78 and 79 123's the door panel DOES have to come off to get to the door handle lock cylinder.there is a third screw inside that holds the front of the door handle onto the door.
then just drive out the drift pin and pull out the tumbler and start cleaning...
dab a bit of grease on the OUTSIDE of the tumbler and put it back in.
