If you have comprehensive coverage, see if your insurance will give you anything for it. I know a fellow who's battling his insurance over a $5500 salvage settlement ($5800 damage payout, $300 buy-back) because he knows of someone who got a crate engine paid for. In both cases the damage was shown to be caused by a failed vacuum pump.
