New filter and gasket. Appears to have small crack at rim below lid.
Just a drop or two...possibly over torqued the lid sometime in the past(Me or PO) and a crack is developing.

Does anyone know for sure if the oil filter housing on a 500 engine is interchangable with that of a 380? This weekends trek to U Pull It revealed only two possible contenders. But the engines on both cars at the junk yard are 380's.

Was not able to detect part number off the junkers. My car only had a # on the lid of the housing.

I searched Rusty's, Drivewire, and Performance with no results for this part. I do not want to business with the dealers here in town. Very impersonal.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Well I searched all the online parts houses I know and discovered they all do sell the filter housing to block gasket. The gaskets list for a variety of prices with Rusty's being the best value. And the gasket needed for my 500SEC is the same stock number for the gasket that fits '84-'85 500SEC,SEL,380SEC,380SE. I hope there are no internal differences, however.
So off to U Pull it again to score the housing. Only when I can inspect both units more closly will I be able, hopefully, to find matching part numbers.
