I know this little guy was broken from fatigue - I barely laid a hand on the hose (in cold weather) and it snapped. It's just in a convenient place to put your hand (and weight) when working on the car. The plastic nipple on the reservoir tank was already bright white at the neck from stress and had been reinforced with a brass tube by a previous mechanic.
