dont fully understand the question but.... the engine has to move, and be raised to allow access to the motor mounts. on my 420sel that meant using the oil pan as the jack point using a 2x8 between the floor jack and the pan. only had to raise the engine about 2 or 3 inches. Its been a while but if I remember, I also had to pull the fan shroud and possibly the radiator so the fan would not dent the radiator as the engine was raised.
