My concern would be the possibility of the crack spreading into a critical area. This may be very unlikely, but I'm not the one taking the risk. Is it possible to find a correct used caliper in a salvage yard or an 'autojumble', that could be sent for rebuilding? If not, I'd price the W123 caliper conversion before making a final decision.
