It's always a bit of a gamble to buy a car sight unseen. As a dyed-in-the-wool Diesel fan (who also happens to live close to you), I have bought and sold quite a few W123 Diesels. I have bought my daughter's 240D for an honest $100, and I have sold a super low mileage 240D for $15,4K and several others for more than $12K.

That said . . . I don't see anything that would personally turn me off (aside from my personal preference that I would NEVER want to own a car that has a California license plate starting with a digit higher than "3"; this one would get a "5"). Paint . . . yes, you'll have to spent about $1,5K on a nice paint job, but that's no biggie. Other than that . . . a turbo 300D, with good color combo for that kind of money . . . not a bad deal at all!
