If you could find one of the early Mercedes 220 Strombergs, it would be a better parts match.
If you could fit it in place of your current carb, you'd gain a manual choke and lose the fragile damper oil reservoir, but you'd also lose the idle cut-off valve and all the work you put into restoring that.
