I have a CCW here in AZ. The best CCW courses will cover weapon safety, will very thoroughly cover the legal issues involved (you can only use deadly force to counter deadly force) and will make sure that you can properly handle a gun and shoot accurately.

Unfortunately, there are quite a few courses that just barely cover the minimum requirements. It's advisable to ask around before signing up for one.
