if you work on the bottom, you can do it without removing the shroud, but it ain't easy. I broke down and pulled the fan, then the shroud, then the oil cooler, then the tranny lines with a new rad ready to drop back in, only lost 1/4 quart of fluid!
and I did it all except for the lower oil cooler bolt, from the top!

oh, get a REALLY GOOD 10mm to remove the fan bolts... they are tight! and they strip off easy.
