There is a retaining screw holding the center wood down. It is located just under the carpet in the center carpet. After removing the screw, pull up on the rear of the wood and back on the front and it will come off.
As for the roof, let a pro do it. They are very complex and difficult to repair if anything major is broken or out of adjustment.
