Anyone else seen anything like this or have experience similar....?

mmm hmm! I had the wrong thermostat in Brunhilda when I first got her. She ran about 10 - 15 degrees too hot at a sitting-in-traffic idle. Made me real nervous.

Amazing how the right thermostat fixed that. Oh - overfull radiator and coolant at too high of a concentration as well.

Engine is designed to run at a certain temp, so of course changing the temp makes it not run right!
