Thank you. That tends to confirm what I'm thinking - that the two parts places I ordered from sent the incorrect part. They were Meistersatz (or something like that) by the way. Nice looking quality.

I was pretty unhappy because I had the pan pulled on the car before finding out the new gasket wouldn't fit, and the old gasket was cracked and shrinking. Had to try twice to get it to seal.

Hint: If transmission fluid is pouring from the transmission at the same rate you're putting it in at the filler, the transmission will never get filled.

Its nice to have two cars that use some of the same parts. Why the heck Mercedes had to change the oil filter between 1982 and 1987 on the diesels I'll never figure out!
