If you have a small wire welder, or a friend with one, it would only take a few minutes to weld the strut on. Heck, a muffler shop probably would do it for you for a few bucks if you have the parts ready to weld. Just make sure they are bent correctly before welding. You can buy flat steel strap at any hardware or some home improvement stores. Wish I had done that before I reassembled mine, but so far mine have been working.
