I wish I could help with engine rebuild kit.

The big expense is going to be in a set of pistons. The timing chain, chain tensioner, bearings, gaskets, ect.aren't too expensive, but the pistons are a big $$$ item. The oil pump can be checked for wear, and reused most of the time.

A good and honest machinist is worth his weight in gold with a project like this, they can usually get individual parts from sources you and I don't know about or have access to. I recently had the cylinder head rebuilt for my dad's 1945 Farmall tractor, and the machinist was able to get all new springs and valves for a much better price than I was finding at the tractor restoration parts places.
