The only reason that this thread is of interest is the fact that we've bought into the government's view that air travel is inherently risky due to the potential for terrorism. The government and, subsequently, the media have concluded that anyone who would even think of carrying a gun onto an airplane should be shot on sight. The crime is simply too abhorrent to contemplate.

Carrying a gun onto an airplane is no different than carrying a gun into a drinking establishment or a gun into NYC for example. They are not permitted in either location (in these parts anyway). If you are caught with the gun in the wrong place, you must face the consequences. I'm sure it happens to folks everyday. They forget to lock the gun in the cabinet and travel with it to inappropriate places.

It doesn't make the newspapers.

Think about the action of the coach. He made an honest mistake. You all buy into the BS that the government has done to make it a "horrifying act" that clearly indicates a possible "terrorist".

The sad part of this thread are the responses to the OP.
