Please read the directions on the can VERY closely. You MUST follow the curing directions exactly or it will burn and flake off when it gets hot.

Most say to paint the manifold, let it dry for 10 minutes, cure in an oven at 450-650*f for ~4 hours and let it naturally air cool down to room temp before it's used on the engine.
