Not to top the story, but with a 73 VW type 2, I was launching a 16' boat with the vehicle in gear. As I operated the winch, I got hit in the rear with the bus's bumper as it popped out of gear and I launched the boat, motor, trailer, and bus. Starter died 6 months later with 1/2 cup of water still inside the case.

I'd say you were lucky too be able to stop it when you did, coulda been worse... Yes, that CRC is good stuff.
