Finally, a GOOD dealer experience

I decided to have the alignment done on my '98E300 at my dealer after putting new tires on the car earlier this week, plus it was due for the annual state safety inspection so I figured I would get that done too. First time I have brought it to them for anything other than a inspection of the spring perches right after I bought it. I showed up early for my appointment, they took the car in.

While waiting I asked a salesman to drive the E320 Bluetec...which I did and was very impressed by it. I learned that the '07 does not have the urea injection system so it needs no special maintenance. Apparently that is coming in future years. I also drove the R320 CDI and was totally unimpressed by it. Everything the E is the R isn't. It seemed sluggishly slow, noisier, felt very big to drive and seemed to have a turning radius that was about what I'd expect from a small motor home. UGH...glad I drove that so I know I would not ever consider one. But the E is definitely on my radar.

After I returned from the test drive my car was ready, the alignment report I had asked for was stapled to the invoice (everything was actually in spec before they even adjusted it, all it needed was a small toe adjustment to make it pretty much perfect). I knew there wasn't anything seriously wrong as my last set of tires wore out pretty evenly. The car passed the stringent state safety inspection with flying colors and after a total of about 80 minutes I was on my way out the door...kudos now to Holloway in Manchester for the best dealership service experience I have had since I owned a Honda.
