85 300D turn the key and nothin.

My new 85 has a lil problem, sometimes when I try to start, I turn the key and nothin happens. The guy I bought it from told me it used to happen to him every once in a while, he said it took it to the dealer and they replaced the neutral saftey switch and it never happened to him again, when I bought the car from him in Texas and drove it home, before I left he told me about this, and showed me the bypass under the hood in case it ever happenes again, the two outside screws, he said touch two screwdrivers together, (which were in the trunk), while the ignition is turned on, and it will crank the starter.

I have tried this and it dont work, it sparks and I hear a click on the top of the engine, but no starter activity. I know I can pull start with my chevy, but the Benzo is down in my underground garage, the only way out is to drive out.

The last time this happened was at the store, I went so far as to connect some heavy gague wire to those screws and club em together, still no dice. But then I just ran the shifter thru all gears up and down and back to park, and it started right up, so I was thinkin mabe they didnt replace that switch after all. But shiftin aint workin this time, arrrrrgggghhh what to do? Anyone have any ideas?
