It comes down to deciding what you go to work for.
Do you go to work for money? Or do you go to work to have interpersonal relationships of love, joy and harmony?
If its the first, as it is for most people, you learn to shut up most of the time and take the paycheck home. There is often no reward offered or given for improving the business.
If its the second, you may be in the wrong job. Try the Peace Corp.
More seriously though, I know what you mean. As you get older, you develop an immunity to this and it does become a matter of deciding what your goals are (salary) rather than trying to make the world a better place.
